The 2020 Berkshire Book Award Shortlist Event was held at Denefield School in Reading attended by pupils and staff from schools across Berkshire. Our visiting speaker was Clare Rees, local English teacher turned author. The event included the announcement of the shortlist 2020. We had discussions about reading habits in general and about individual books.

The 2020 Berkshire Book Award Launch Event was held at St George’s School Ascot with 180 attendees from Berkshire schools. Author Laura Wood was the inspiring speaker for this year’s launch, talking passionately about reading and writing. Laura answered many questions including questions about the source of her inspiration for her books, her favourite book that she has written, how long it takes for her to write and what she enjoys reading.

The launch of the 2015 Berkshire Book Award was held at Forest School, Wokingham where we warmly welcomed 115 pupils from twelve schools across the county. Author Andy Mulligan gave a very engaging presentation and provided our audience with some wonderful advice; “The wonder of writing is that you hardly need anything to start you off...just a pen and a piece of paper.”
