In January 2024 Reading Blue Coat School was delighted to host the shortlist event once more.  The Chair, Sarah Seddon, from Gillotts School opened the event and introduced Alex Baker, who runs creative writing workshops in the Wokingham area.  Attendees had the opportunity to discuss books with students from other schools and it was great to see how much their enthusiasm was shared.

 

Shortlisted books included The Stories Grandma forgot by Nadine Aisha Jassat and Nightshade Revenge by Anthony Horowitz. For the YA award shortlisted titles included Let's Play Murder by Kesia Lupo and Fight Back by A M Dassu. John Newton from Newt Books provided a tantalising selection of shortlisted books for students to buy.
